A terrifying shooting incident occurred late last night in North Kellyville, Sydney, when a family home on Nangar Crescent was sprayed with bullets in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.
Around 11pm, multiple shots were fired into the two-storey residence, shattering balcony glass and damaging the front door. Inside the home at the time were a 44-year-old man, a 48-year-old woman, and their 18-year-old son. Miraculously, none of the occupants were injured.
NSW Police Superintendent Naomi Moore described the incident as “unbelievable” in terms of the family’s narrow escape from harm. Authorities have confirmed that the residents have no known links to organised crime, suggesting the attackers targeted the wrong address.
Shortly after the shooting, a burnt-out vehicle was discovered nearby, which investigators suspect may be connected to the attack. Police have established a crime scene and are conducting a thorough investigation, including forensic analysis, and canvassing the area for surveillance footage.
