Alive 90.5 FM’s August Buzz: New Faces, Fresh Sound, Bigger Studio

This August, Alive 90.5 FM is in full swing welcoming fresh talent, embarking on an exciting new build, and lighting up the airwaves with creativity and community spirit.

 

Youthful Energy on Air

A wave of young volunteers has joined the station, from interns at ECA and WSU to enthusiastic contributors from Hills Youth Army and Rotaract. These new members Akash, Shaharyar, Dean, Jiyaa, Ryan, Emily, and Jayden are already stepping into roles across IT, content creation, social media, podcasting, audio production, videography, and community engagement.

Studio 4 Takes Shape

Thanks to a strong partnership between Alive, the Community Building Partnership, and the Community Broadcasting Foundation, construction on the new Studio 4 is set to begin. This cutting-edge space will boost recording, mixing, and mastering capabilities, giving local artists a dedicated platform to create and shine.

Fundraising & Festival Highlights

A sizzling Bunnings BBQ fundraiser in July raised an impressive $2,115 to support the new studio, kudos to volunteers and bakers who made it happen. Earlier, Live@Alive 2025 lit up Riverside Theatre for World Make Music Day, drawing 170 guests, 21 performers, and featuring up and coming stars including The Voice 2024 winner Reuben De Melo.

Looking Ahead

With the AGM on 21 August and a lineup of community events this month from the recently concluded Hills Winter Sleepout to Run for the Hills and emergency service expos, Alive is not just staying plugged in, but turned up loud and dynamic.
