Community Foundation of North Western Sydney Hosts Film Screening to Mark Suicide Prevention Day 2025

The Community Foundation of North Western Sydney commemorated World Suicide Prevention Day 2025 with the exclusive screening of Brewed Anew, a deeply moving short documentary by multiple award-winning filmmaker Rajiv Chaudhri, at Event Cinemas, Castle Hill. Presented in association with India Club Inc., and supported by Hills Sydney Digital Magazine and Alive 90.5 FM, the sold-out event reflected the community’s growing commitment to mental health awareness.

What made Brewed Anew especially significant was its local heart and soul. The entire cast, crew, shooting locations, post-production, and even the story itself were drawn from The Hills Shire and North Western Sydney. This gave the film a uniquely authentic voice, rooted in the lived experiences of the very community it sought to inspire and support.

The documentary tells the true story of a young suicide survivor in North Western Sydney, who fought his inner battles to reclaim his life.
