Former NSW Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Child Abuse Material Offences

A former senior constable has admitted to possessing child abuse material nearly a year after an investigation prompted police to examine more than 6000 files.

North Kellyville resident Luke Braden Taylor, 29, was arrested following a Professional Standards Command investigation into allegations he had accessed the material online.

As part of Strike Force Normanville, detectives executed search warrants at three locations on December 18, seizing electronic devices belonging to the former North West Metropolitan Region officer. Taylor was subsequently taken to Castle Hill Police Station and charged with using a carriage service to access child abuse material.

Appearing before Parramatta Local Court on Friday, Taylor pleaded guilty to using a carriage service to access child abuse material and possessing such material.

He has been committed for sentencing in Parramatta District Court on February 2, 2026. His bail was continued.
