A Community That Cares: Christmas Luncheon for Those Spending the Festive Season Alone

By Rajiv Chaudhri - Editor in Chief

As Christmas approaches, it is often a time of joy, togetherness and celebration. Yet for many in our community, this season can also bring feelings of loneliness and isolation. In recognition of this, Castle Hill Police, in partnership with Wesley Uniting Church Castle Hill, have come together to extend a simple but powerful message: you are not alone.

On Tuesday, 24 December, a free Christmas luncheon will be hosted for members of our community who may be spending Christmas on their own. The luncheon will be held from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at the Wesley Uniting Church Hall, 32–34 Showground Road, Castle Hill. There is no charge to attend, and all are warmly welcome.

This initiative is a wonderful gesture of compassion and community spirit. Our local police already do so much to protect and serve residents across The Hills Shire, often going well beyond their call of duty. Similarly, Wesley Uniting Church Castle Hill has long been a cornerstone of outreach and care in our area, supporting individuals and families through a range of programs aimed at fostering inclusion and wellbeing.

In light of recent tragic events that have affected many across our wider community, this “We Care About You” luncheon offers more than just a meal. It provides comfort, connection and the opportunity to share company at a time when it matters most. It is also a chance for the community to express gratitude to two organisations that consistently demonstrate kindness, leadership and service.

Spaces are limited, so those interested are encouraged to register early. Please contact Karen at Wesley Uniting Church on 0408 970 948 or email admin@wesleycastlehill.org.au.

If you know someone who may benefit from this gathering, please help spread the word. Sometimes, a shared meal and a friendly conversation can make all the difference.
