Thrills, Chills and Laughter at The Pavilion Theatre

By Robyn Dalton

Castle Hill’s Pavilion Theatre, nestled in the Showground, continues to deliver some of the best entertainment value in the Hills. With a reputation for high-quality productions, the theatre combines professional standards with the intimacy of community performance, making every visit a memorable experience.

Hot on the heels of its acclaimed season of The Last Five Years, a modern Broadway musical exploring the triumphs and heartbreaks of a young couple, the Castle Hill Players are back with another show that promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Opening on Friday, 19 September and running until Saturday, 11 October, Peter Colley’s I’ll Be Back Before Midnight, directed by Ben Freeman, is a masterclass in suspenseful theatre. Set in a remote farmhouse where a couple seeks peace and healing, their refuge quickly transforms into a nightmare as strange events and mysterious visitors unravel their plans.

Described as part thriller, part comedy, the play blurs the lines between horror and humour, delivering spine-tingling moments one minute and bursts of laughter the next. It’s a gripping theatrical ride filled with unexpected twists, perfect for anyone who loves their drama with a dash of the unexpected.

The Pavilion Theatre itself is a gem, a fully raked, air-conditioned venue with the latest in sound and lighting technology. Tickets are just $30, making it one of the most affordable nights out in the Shire.

Bookings can be made online at thepaviliontheatre.org.au (no booking fee), by phone on 02 9634 2929 (Mon-Fri, 11am-6pm, booking fee applies), or at the door (subject to availability).
